Video from our FREE Online Business Course www.myownbusiness.org Session 6 – Business Insurance Question “How can sitting down with an insurance agent help me in preparing for my business?” Kelly Davis Insurance Agent Topics covered in this video: Business insurance, agent, workers compensation, liability, health Transcript: If you sat down with an insurance agent that had an array of business insurance products such as workers compensation insurance and professional liability insurance, you could get a handle on what initial costs are going to be in your first year and what potential costs will come down the pike. In the future you might get more employees or you might fall into the requirement to carry group health insurance, or you might get into the arena of retirement plans, 401K’s, ira’s, etc and most front line insurance agents can give you a pretty good idea as to what you’re going to be faced with. It’s better to have a plan than not to have a plan because the future costs might weight heavily on what you want to do with the business, so it’s a smart thing to do. It doesn’t cost you anything because an insurance agent only gets paid when he sells product. So it’s not like going to an attorney that would charge you by the hour. An insurance agent is actually a good deal because they’ll give you a lot of free advice in the hopes that you will use them for your insurance needs.
